Functional Overview
Esri ArcGIS integration functions on two levels.
From the user perspective, the M-Files for ArcGIS integration offers a seamless way of working, accessing, and managing content. The M-Files interface is embedded into your ArcGIS Web Applications allowing users to access and interact with related content from M-Files directly from ArcGIS Web Applications. Likewise, ArcGIS maps are accessible through the M-Files desktop application via our Extended UI, allowing users to access related maps and assets directly from the M-Files desktop.
On the server level, M-Files brings in data from ArcGIS and uses that data to connect and organise your documents and non-GIS controlled content. This removes the need of manually inputting data from ArcGIS into M-Files in order to connect information between the two systems.
By doing so this allows users to access information from which ever application interface that they prefer to work in and always ensuring that they have access to the right information.

Esri ArcGIS uniquely aligns with M-Files - using Location Intelligence to connect data and information through an intuitive map-based interface providing meaningful context; a window through which different constituents can view the right data for their individual roles - just as M-Files eliminates information silos by providing quick and easy access to the right information from any business system and device based on "What it Is" but not Where it is – a different Where if you like as when we speak about where something is we are referring to somewhere on your network infrastructure not Where it is on the earth, which is what Where means to Esri users.
